More importantly, learn an array of relatively simply but remarkably effective technical configuration changes which will significantly reduce your enterprise's risk exposure to social networks. Discussed solutions will include operating system and web browser configuration changes, web browser plug protection, and data egress protection.

NAISG Houston Training Seminar - Foundations of Information Security

November 2, 2011

Delve into the heart of design‐level security in the enterprise. Learn how to bake security into the network from an architectural design standpoint up, rather than sprinkling security on at the end. Learn how to improve security, reliability and significantly lower the cost of network ownership by reconfiguring the logical and physical interconnectivity and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, DMZ configurations, VLAN configurations, proxy servers, remote access infrastructure, DNS, databases, servers, enterprise authentication, Active Directory domain(s) configuration, domain policies, Group Policies and more. Data asset classification and network compartmentalization are explained like never before using actual customer case history examples. Finally, watch a hands‐on demonstration of innovative yet inexpensive ways to permanently remediate entire classes of security vulnerabilities at once by reconfiguring operating systems and security software in new ways.

The emphasis of this seminar is identifying obscure but common‐sense solutions already inherent in most operating systems and widely available inexpensive off‐the‐shelf hardware and software products. The introduction of new network equipment is a secondary consideration; the reconfiguration of the existing infrastructure is the primary consideration.

White Badger Security's Executive Director of Security Services, Paul Williams, will address such questions while exploring several aspects of the current malware threats.

FOSE 2011 Session - CNI-5: Situational Awareness - Mitigating the Next Stuxnet

July 20, 2011

Presentation Photos

The Stuxnet worm was a 'game-changer'. It showed government, national security and IT professionals not only that malware has the potential to paralyze operating systems used in critical systems, but that there were organizations in the world that had the resources and time to commit to such an organized and well-funded attack. A top DoD cyber priority is establishing effective Situational Awareness (SA) across the DoD enterprise, establishing a user-customized Cyber Common Operational Picture (Cyber COP) that empowers commanders and decision makers at all levels to "see" the cyber battlefield in order to ensure freedom of action in cyberspace, while denying the enemy the same.

Learning Objectives:
The history of the Stuxnet worm
How Stuxnet could have been mitigated through the right technology mix
Steps government IT executives can take to prevent cyber attacks of this magnitude

White Badger Security's Executive Director of Security Services, Paul Williams, will be speaking and covering these learning objectives.

ISSA Web Conference - The Changing Face of Malware

Live Event: June 28, 2011

Malware has been around for some time now and does not seem to be going away. In fact, it is becoming more prevalent and dangerous with malware releases now exceeding those of legitimate software. Malware is a contaminant, a spy, and a resource thief that can leave your system damaged, and your confidential information compromised. It exposes your organization and users to a source of harmful worms, Trojan horses, and viruses.

How can you keep track of new malware threats, how do you know you have been attacked, how did you get attacked, and what are the impacts or ramifications of the new malware threats?

White Badger Security's Executive Director of Security Services, Paul Williams, will address such questions while exploring several aspects of the current malware threats.
